The main objective of the study was to design and develop a comprehensive support system action plan for registered caregivers of PWDs. This study involved a sample of 2,333 informal caregivers covering all seven categories of PWDs. The sample study for formal caregivers (PWD care centres) included 213 care centres, consisting of 162 Community-Based Rehabilitation centres, seven Taman Sinar Harapan centres, 27 care centres run by non-governmental organisations (NGOs), 13 private care centres, and four individual care centres.

This book is a product of the experiences gained by students of the Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work Programme (DPSKS) during their practicum placements at various government agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). The insights gathered during the practicum are translated into writings on social work knowledge, providing a positive impact for social work practitioners and society at large.

This book compiles selected and edited works based on articles produced by participants of the Social Research Program: Colloquium for Social Researchers. It aligns with the development of social work in the current global era and the increasing needs and expectations of society, particularly regarding quality of life and well-being.

This publication serves as a medium to report the activities and programmes conducted over the past year at Institut Sosial Malaysia (ISM). Published annually, it also aims to provide a comprehensive overview of ISM's performance, achievements, and financial standing throughout the year.
