This proceedings document is a compilation of papers presented at the Second National Social Work Conference 2023, held on 13 and 14 September 2023 at the Social Institute of Malaysia. The event was organised by the School of Applied Psychology, Policy and Social Work (SAPSP), Universiti Utara Malaysia, and the Social Institute of Malaysia. This marks the second conference organised by SAPSP focusing on social work and current social issues.

This colloquium represents a collaborative effort aimed at fostering constructive and innovative exchanges of ideas among academics, researchers, policymakers, and industry practitioners. With this year's theme, "Social Transformation Through Research and Innovation," the colloquium serves as a platform to explore new approaches to addressing increasingly complex social challenges.

The Covid-19 pandemic brought new challenges to every individual. Women who once led peaceful lives managing their family needs were suddenly tested by the loss of their husbands to the virus. Others faced trials such as divorce, job loss, or health challenges during the global crisis.

This semi-academic magazine features articles related to social issues occurring within the community. Published annually, it reflects a diversity of views and perspectives from academics, community leaders, industry practitioners, and individuals. The publication aims to provide readers with meaningful insights to understand and address complex social issues within the current context.

This publication serves as a medium to report the activities and programmes conducted over the past year at ISM. Published annually, it also aims to provide a comprehensive overview of ISM's performance, achievements, and financial standing throughout the year.

The International Journal of Social Policy and Society (IJSPS) is a refereed international journal published by ISM. IJSPS aims to promote multidisciplinary topics in social sciences highly correlated to the development of the society.

The demand from stakeholders for courses and training related to Social Work is increasing daily. Consequently, there is an urgent need for the establishment of an accreditation agency to regulate and ensure the quality of these courses and training. The primary objective of this study was to assess the feasibility of the Malaysian Social Institute (ISM) as the Social Work Accreditation Agency of Malaysia (AAKSM).
